Vienna

Inspiring weekend in Vienna. Beautiful buildings, scenery, exhibitions and food!

Exhibition

Following on from my degree show I was invited to put on a 9 piece exhibition in 'The Swan House Inn' a boutique hotel in Beccles. I really enjoyed putting it together and it was interesting to see how my work can work as art pieces as well as textile designs. I sold 2 pieces :)

Graduation

Happiest day ever :)

NEW DESIGNERS 2013

I had a fantastic time at New Designers! I won an award an had a lot of interest in my work from fashion, interiors and surface companies. More details on these too follow soon! I would recommend exhibiting at New Designers to any textile student.

Putting up Degree Show

2 of the 4 lengths produced for the Degree Show.
I spent most of the day putting these 3 lengths in different orders before I finally decided to go with my tutors advice and just put the 2 below up as they are brighter from a distance. I am glad I came to this decision as my digital more detailed length went up at New Designers in the end.

 Hand in contents list.
Hand in pile! :D

Recent screen printing

Here I have used linen which I found difficult to use as the fibres do not absorb the pastes easily. I am please with the result though, it would work well on a mans shirt.
This is not a final sample but I learnt a lot here. Blue is not very dischargeable so the orange pigment illuminator went slightly browny when mixed with the blue. For the blue stripes, which bled, I painted the dye mixed with chemical water onto my screen, dried it and then printed with the procion paste (manutex). The reason it has bled was that I pulled the squeegee too many times (5 rather than 3).
 Dip dye with discharged shapes.
